We offer three distinct pathways for organisations to support our work, ranging from public sponsorship to pure philanthropic backing:

One-Off Appeal Sponsorships

​

Designed for businesses looking to back a specific, high-impact community project or event.

 

Benefits include: 

​

• Featured Page Placement: Your business will be prominently listed on our specific campaign donation page, which is highly visible to all public donors throughout the appeal.

• Social Recognition: Inclusion in our campaign social media posts, where we acknowledge the local businesses backing the appeal, complete with direct tags to your profile.

• Giving Add-Ons: Unique opportunities to match public donations or champion the cause through employee-led workplace giving initiatives.

 

Annual Sponsorships

For local businesses dedicated to providing long-term, foundational support to the wider Ōtautahi ecosystem.

 

Benefits include:

• Year-Round Visibility: Receive persistent, high-visibility logo and business placement across all five campaign donation pages throughout the year.

• Dedicated Business Spotlight: A standalone, dedicated social media post showcasing your business, your team, and your active commitment to Ōtautahi.

• Frontline Presentation: The unique opportunity to join us and personally present the collective funding cheque to a local charity partner within 30 days of an appeal's completion.

Anchor Partners (Philanthropic Backing)

​

For organisations wishing to provide foundational financial backing to significantly advance one or more specific appeals.

​

• Criteria & Treatment: An Anchor Partner contributes a set amount of funding towards a chosen appeal or selection of appeals. Crucially, this contribution is treated strictly as a financial donation, rather than a commercial sponsorship. It carries high-level philanthropic recognition for your civic contribution, but does not include direct commercial promotion or marketing features.

Bespoke corporate partnership packages outside of these standard tiers may be considered by the committee on a case-by-case basis.

Eligibility, Exclusions, and Ethical Boundaries

​

To maintain absolute transparency and protect the well-being of the wider Christchurch community, our Selection Committee operates with strict ethical boundaries regarding the sources of our funding:

​

• Harmful Activities & Exclusions: Ōtautahi Community will not enter into formal sponsorships or annual partnerships with businesses primarily linked to gambling, alcohol, tobacco, vaping, or any other activities that may be deemed harmful to our community.

• Gaming Foundations and Class 4 Trusts: We acknowledge that many local grassroots initiatives rely on gaming machine funding. However, to maintain the ethical independence of our platform, donations from gaming foundations or trusts are accepted strictly at the absolute discretion of the individual charities we support. Ōtautahi Community will not directly solicit or manage these funds.

• Compliance: All corporate partners must be organisations in good standing, hold proper legal registrations, and be entirely clear of any active regulatory investigations, compliance issues, or enforcement actions.
